Frequently Asked Questions
How is the date obtained?
Part of a TikTok video ID encodes its creation time, and we estimate the date from that rather than reading a date shown on the page. It is a widely used method, but it is an estimate, for reference only.
How accurate is it?
For most videos the estimate is very close to the real posting time, enough to tell a new video from an old one. If you need minute-level proof, rely on TikTok's own page.
Which time zone is used?
Your browser's local time zone.
Does it work for photo posts and private videos?
Public videos and photo posts work; content from private accounts cannot be parsed.
Do I need an account?
No.
